Writing

I enjoy writing. Whether I'm constructing the clear expression of an idea, or accurately creating in the reader a particular shade of emotion through word choice and cadence, or even actively dismantling a reader's misconception, it's one of the most satisfying mental pursuits.

Most of my writing to date falls into four categories: business writing, philosophical discussions, song lyrics, and personal communiqués. Naturally the latter will not be published. The lyrics can be found in the music section.

The style of my writing is my own. But my favorite authors have influenced it to varying degrees. I enjoy the mastery with which these authors and lyricists have written their thoughts: Cicero, Thomas Jefferson, Ayn Rand, William Shakespeare, Jonathan Swift, King James' 54 scholars, Djuna Barnes, James Burke, Bill Watterson, Gary Larson, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Andy Partridge, Ira Gershwin, Cole Porter, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and many others.
